God’s Better Plan

CrossPoint Christian Church

God is glorified when we learn to seek and submit to His better plans.

To experience God’s better plans we must:

1. Stop telling Him what He should do.

Luke 9:12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

Job 36:22-23 “Look, God is all-powerful. Who is a teacher like him? 23 No one can tell him what to do, or say to him, ‘You have done wrong.’

2. Learn to accept the Lord’s challenge.

Luke 9:13a But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.”

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

3. Stop focusing on your own abilities and resources.

Luke 9:13b And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

4. Do what He says.

Luke 9:14 For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.”

Luke 6:46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?

5. Participate in His work.

Luke 9:16 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.

Colossians 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
