A Beginner's Guide to Prayer

How do we know that God will hear our prayers and that we will receive answers to them? Have you ever been frustrated when it seems that your prayer isn’t answered the way that you want it and at the pace you expect? Do you think that prayer should function like a magic wand to magically rescue us on demand or a fire extinguisher to put out life fires that we create? Sometimes we even enter into a tug of war type of relationship with God as we petition “God’s will” and yet don’t want to surrender to that will. What is your understanding of prayer?
